It is my pleasure to recommend Daniel Fleishman.
Daniel designed, assembled and tested a system that consists of a machine-vision camera, motorized stages, Arduino microcontrollers and a laser beam profiler. Daniel designed custom components in SolidWorks and fabricated them using a 3-D printer. He also wrote the code (C/C++ and LabView) that enabled full automation. Daniel has very good engineering skills and he communicates well.
He is hard working and self-motivated. He is a fast learner and is very adept at working with both hardware and software. The entire Optical Engineering Group at Prysm thought very highly of him and I believe that he will be an asset to any company that hires him.

Daniel had several responsibilities on the project including performing much of the mechanism design using CAD, and doing all the motor set-up and control programming. In addition, Daniel functioned as group leader for a significant portion of the project.

From the very start, Daniel was very interested in capturing our needs and learning about our requirements, and was comfortable questioning issues that didn’t make sense to him. The final design certainly allowed him to use a range of engineering tools to evaluate the performance of the system and come up with creative solutions as issues arose (bending analysis, component specification/selections, mechanism design, motor integration etc) and ultimately I believe Daniel gained a good understanding of a design project from start to finish.

In closing, I would like to reiterate my wholehearted support for Daniel in future engineering positions. He is a very hard-working young man, and a real pleasure to work with. I’m sure he will be an asset to whatever organization he decides to join.
